Gouache "Coral Sea, 8th May 1942" The Japanese aircraft carrier "Shokaku" under dive bombing attack by SBD'S from USS Yorktown's V5-5 Squadron. A large gouache depiction of this 2nd World war battle. A battle of great significance. The artwork is signed & titled verso. It is in excellent condition, under glass & the frame is very good. "Painted in 1993 for Dr. Keith Cochrane of Taupo" is written verso.
